Shakespeare in the Park    -    In Peachtree Corners!

Much Ado - May 11th & 12th

One of Shakespeare’s most beloved romantic comedies, this contemporary version of Much Ado About Nothing is set in Italy during a 21st century film festival.  Bring the family to see it at Simpsonwood Park in Peachtree Corners.

Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s most light-hearted comedies, making it a perfect choice for family-friendly programming. With Claudia and Hero’s love-at-first-sight courtship and marriage, contrasting Benedick and Beatrice’s playful quarrelling, Shakespeare pokes fun not only at marriage, but also at love itself.

This contemporary version, by director Susanna Wilson, Much Ado holds all the same elements: love at first sight, jealousy and confusion.  It's an amusing look at timeless truths about love, betrayal, and acceptance, all in a more accessible and present-day setting. It's family friendly, but recommended for ages 13 and up.

All performances will be outside, for a “Shakespeare in the Park” experience. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs; no seating will be provided. Show will run approximately 100 minutes with no intermission.
